Transcription: The oldest method of printing is called relief printing. A relief print is created when the image is printed from a raised surface. You can create a relief print using any material into which you can carve, but wood and linoleum are two of the most common materials used. To make a linoleum print, the artist first draws the desired image onto a linoleum block. Next, the artist carves away all of the areas that are not meant to be printed.
